QPCorp represents a number of overseas clients, mostly in the European Union, who speacialise in wastewater treatment solutions, in the form of standard as well as custom-built wastewater treatment plants for industrial, commercial and urban uses (population size 100 and upwards).

QPCorp collaborate with 3W Systems (Private) Limited, Rawalpindi, on project-to-project basis in respect of water and wastewater treatment solutions.

WASTE WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM

The MARTI Compact Modular Package Domestic Waste Water Treatment Plants are designed to satisfy the needs of small communities, hotels, resort areas, army installations, service stations, caravan sites and construction sites, for an uncomplicated, economical and yet effective sewage treatment facility.

Standard modular constructions of MARTI plants serve for a population range of 50-1,000. High quality of the final effluent is assured by the use of “Attached Growth Process Technologies”, which are widely used in large municipal sewage works and now adapted for MARTI Modular Package Treatment Plants.

3W Systems is producing Package Plants in technical collaboration and under license from Arges Makina Turkey, who are one of the pioneer producers of package plants in the region.

PARTS OF THE SYSTEM

A. Equalization Tank

The influent passes a mechanical rack screen or basket screen before it enters the equalization tank. The maximum particle size of more than 20 mm are removed at this stage. Detention time in the equalization tank varies with the maximum, average and minimum flow pattern. However; it is generally between 2-4 hours to maintain uniform flow to the package treatment plant

A.1. Feed Pump

The feed pump transfers the sewage to the MARTI Modular Unit. Float switches normally control the feed pumps; a standby pump can be provided.

B. Marti Modular Package Treatment Plant

The Marti Modular Unit design is based on a “Combined” process comprising RAS + Attached Growth Process Technologies. The results are considered as one of the best process for package wastewater treatment and leave nominal footprints for STP, besides ensuring trouble free operation of the plant. The modular unit is designed to fit to the customer’s requirements. The unit consists of inlet tank, aeration tank, settling tank and a control room. Each Marti Modular Unit has different standard sizes, ranging from 3 cubic metres per day (3 kW) to 400 cubic metres (15 kW). However, Marti Plants can be made in any size and for any flow rate depending on customer-specific requirements.

B.1 Aeration Tank

Biological treatment of wastewater is carried out in the aeration tank, using attached growth process of treatment by using Bio Media Anchors that circulate in the aeration tank and bacteria attach themselves onto them. The Bio Media Anchor has a surface area of around 700 m3/m2. Due to use of this technology, it is possible to maintain high concentration of MLSS in the aeration tank (3,000-5,000 mg/lt.). Accordingly, less retention time is required in the aeration tank for treatment of wastewater. Aeration is carried out by using rotary/centrifugal air blower and fine disc diffuser system.

Type : Steel Construction, 6 mm steel plates, reinforced by I80 profiles vertically, Compact, Steel Construction with ST37, steel plates and profiles.

Surface Treatment : All steel material will be sand blasted S.a. 2.5

Cover : Inner surfaces are coated by Epoxy based paint Outer surfaces will be covered by two of protective paint minimum 100 micron and a decorative paint.

Dimensions : Dimensions are available in the brochure for standard capacities (Dimensions include both aeration tanks, settling tank and control room.) In case of customer specific package treatment plants, dimensions are given in the drawings provided to client.

B.1. A. Blowers

B.1. B. Diffusers

Type : Fine Bubbles Oxygen Dissolving System
Diffusers can be fitted 1 ¼’’ nipples pipe and to PE pipe by using special adapters. The system is not liable to choking. The special design prevents the entry of liquid to the piping system when the airflow is interrupted. There are valves for controlling the air supply aeration tank at each distribution line.

B.2. Settling Tank

The mixed liquor is displaced from the aeration tank by the incoming feed and flows by gravity to the settling tank. The function of the settling tank is to allow separation of the suspended solids from the mixed liquor by means of tilted plates. The separated liquid is discharged from the tank over the weir for disposal as final effluent. Activated sludge from the settling tank is returned to the aeration tank via airlift pump or submersible pumps.

Up flow rate : 2.2 m/hr Detention time : 20 minute (minimum) are taken as design basis.

Type : Compact, Steel construction, integrated to the aeration tank, tilted pipe sedimentation. The settling tank includes one box weir, one deflection baffle, and one air-lift pump/submersible pumps

B.3. Chlorinating Equipment

Chlorine solution is added to the effluent for disinfecting and reuse of wastewater for recycling

Feed pumps are operated by signals from the high-low level indicators of the equalization tank, or the pumps have their own level switch. Level indicator circuits are 24 volt. Dosing operates automatically when any of the feed pumps are on.

Blowers are operated by time relays, which have on-off settings per 15 minutes to maintain desired dissolved oxygen concentration.

Every electric motor has an overload trip and an on-lamp.

Upon request, the whole system can be operated by PLC operated and can be operated remotely completely automatic through RTU & SCADA system.
